Mavourneen

Mavourneen Mavourneen Mavourneen Mavourneen

Description:

Maeve is a 2023 buckskin filly by Mitril out of a Feinerster/Duellglanz mare. Color genetics EE/Aa/nCR (she cannot produce red offspring!)

Though she was bred with the intent for dressage and would undoubtedly do well in the lower levels, as Maeve has grown up it’s become very clear she would excel in the hunter ring. Maeve has 3 clear gaits with an even, ground-covering canter that has a clear cadence and rhythm and flat kneed reach – the kind that you could probably sip a glass of champagne while riding!

Maeve’s sire, Mitril, successfully completed the 2013 70 Day North American Stallion Test. He was noted to show very correct form over fences with a brave approach and was always confident. He showed exceptional obedience and willingness in every aspect of the training (dressage, jumping, and cross country), always maintaining very balanced gaits, rhythm, and natural self-carriage. He was said to be one of the “easiest” horses at the stallion test, and that is a testament to his uncomplicated and willing nature. Mitril’s sire, Alois, is an accomplished Grand Prix show jumper who won the 6-year-old national competition in the Czech Republic.

Her dam sire, Feiner Stern, was a successful sire in the late 90s and early 2000s. He combines the bloodlines of the Oldenburg foundation sire Furioso II with the Hannoverian foundation sire Gotthard. In addition, his granddam Ramona is by the stallion Romulus II, the full brother of Romulus I, sire of the dressage sensation Romadour. The damsire of Feiner Stern, Goldstern, is known in Germany for producing versatile and uncomplicated performance horses. At his stallion performance test Feiner Stern achieved 9.0 4 times for his ability to perform, rideability, trot and gallop in training, and got more than 120 points in the final result. Due to this performance, in combination with a convincing first crop as well as his impressive appearance, he was awarded the title of main premium winning stallion in Oldenburg in 1987. His first batch of foals brought 4 approved sons, among them Feinbrand, the first reserve champion and Fair Play, the 2nd reserve champion of the 1989 stallion approvals in Oldenburg.

As a coming 3 year old (born March 2023), she’s ready to start her under saddle career, or would even be an excellent addition to a breeding program with her potential for passing on color! Maeve is quick to learn and has been exclusively handled by an amateur since birth. She ties, loads, stands for vet and farrier. Maeve been introduced to lunging and the concept of long lining – though nothing extensive as her current “job” has just been to grow up! UTD on vaccines and coggins. Video available upon request. Located in central VA.
